Hypnotherapy for weight loss is becoming more popular as obesity levels rise. In some countries, getting enough to eat is still a problem. In the past in the UK, it was the same – poorer people struggled to afford nourishing and nutritious food, and had strenuous manual jobs requiring a high intake of calories.
In Britain now, food is relatively cheap and most people have no problem affording enough of it to meet their needs.
Very few of us now have physically demanding jobs, so often we are not using up the calories we have ingested.
According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, Britain has the highest rate of obesity in Western Europe. And obesity can result in health problems such as Type 2 diabetes, joint problems and heart disease.
So why has Britain become ‘the fat man of Europe’?
There seems to be no simple explanation. Obviously obesity results from taking in more calories than we expend. But the reason why we eat too much food, or the wrong sort of food, and drink too much alcohol or sugary drinks (both very high in calories) is often not just about being greedy. There can be deep-rooted emotional reasons which underlie these habits, such as a lack of self-esteem, for example.
A ‘Lose your Flab and Find your Fab’ course of weight control therapy with additional mentoring and coaching typically costs £350 for six sessions with email and/or telephone contact in between the sessions to help keep you on track and feeling supported. These sessions can be spread over 12 weeks or a shorter or longer time if preferred, by negotiation. If you want to maintain contact over a six-month period or even a year, for example, that can be arranged, with sessions being scheduled to suit you. Packages can be tailor-made to your individual needs.
Alternatively, some people may opt for a session-by-session approach so that they can simply use the therapy as a means of bolstering their motivation.
